Yota Introduces Yotaphone 2, Available in Stores 

This Week



Yota, one of Russia’s leading tech enterprises, has introduced its newest Yotaphone 2 during a special event in Moscow’s Gorky Park, and will start its sales in Europe this week.



MOSCOW, December 2 (Sputnik) — Russia’s leading mobile devices manufacturer, Yota, officially introduced its second generation smartphone, the newest YotaPhone 2, featuring an appealing design, improved technical characteristics, along with its main feature and an e-ink screen on the device’s backside panel. The product will enter the consumer market at a price of roughly 33,000 roubles ($620).

Luxottica and Intel Take the Fashion/Tech Hookup 

to a Whole New Level


The partnership is the second such foray for Luxottica, after its announcement this year of an agreement to manufacture more fashion-forward frames for Google Glass via their brands Oakley and Ray-Ban. The Intel deal does not mean that Luxottica is breaking up with Google, Mr. Vian said, as it is a different kind of relationship.

“Google Glass is a specific product we are working on,” he said. “With Intel, we are researching new possibilities that can be applied or offered to many brands.”

New York Public Library will rent Wi-Fi hotspots 

to people who need it most





The New York Public Library, as well as the Queens Library and the Brooklyn Public Library, will begin renting out 10,000 Wi-Fi hotspots to residents later this month, The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday. A press release provided to Ars by the New York Public library noted that the New York and Brooklyn Public Libraries will rent out the hotspots for six months to a year to residents who don't have broadband and who are enrolled in library programs and adult learning programs.

The Queens Library will lend the mobile hotspots from five of its libraries to anyone with a library card.
